Yuma Area Agricultural Council

Non-Profit Corporation Providing Educational Programs

Yuma Area Agricultural Council, Inc. (YAAC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed to promote the value of agriculture in Yuma County and the State of Arizona. We strive to accomplish this through educational programs for local and state officials, schools, and the general public. Our volunteers and partners include members of the farming community; police, sheriff, Arizona Department of Agriculture, and fire departments; educational community; local businesses; the media; and other non-profit organizations that support agriculture.

Winter Vegetable Capital

Yuma County is known as the “Winter Vegetable Capital.” Agriculture is Yuma’s number one economic driver and is extremely diverse due to 350 days of sunshine, Colorado River water, and multiple microclimates. If you eat salad from November through March, 90% of those fresh vegetables come from Yuma County. We are very proud of our industry and want to share with others what we do and how important it is to the Arizona economy.
